On the 18 - 19 July, I went there for a Youth Regional Conference, "Give Peace A Chance" held by Methodist Girls School. Obviously I was so excited cause its all the way in SINGAPORE! The 1st impression I had when I reached there was "Greeeeeeen! Its so green everywhere!"
I went there with Dalshini, Siew Huai and Mrs Ganaser. The other Malaysian school who went from KL is Wesley Methodist School, who I didn't really get to talk much except this particular guy.
A student from Wesley Methodist School.
The 1st programme on the 1st day is the forum about peace in the world and what we youths can do. And again everything in Singapore is nice, just like MGS. The school is extremely big and its sooooo WHITE! Plus, it has all kind of classrooms; the music room, labs, air conditioned class rooms etc etc. The computer labs are super cool full of Apple computers. And the auditorium? Its damnn big and nice! Like in the cinema. Maybe I should have applied for the scholarship and studied there. Ahhh... How I wish~
During the session and forum, I definitely learn alot especially about the Olympic Spirit. I have never known how bad the world can be with all the wars and disaster. I didn't have the time to ask any questions but I have already learn as much as I can. The peace in the world can be improved, if and only we YOUTHS do something. And this generation is gonna stand for all generation! Have Peace, Have Life!
The forum discussions with the speaker and the facilitator.
Oh yea, the place where we stayed, the Girls' Brigade Headquarter is like 5 stars dorm. The place is so clean and it has air con! I enjoyed staying there since the whole place are only for the 4 of us and the place is HUGE. If only, its in Malaysia, I would have camp there every single month. Lol. Looking at it making me miss being a Girl Brigade.
Now the best moment is the 2nd day, The Amazing Race! We actually went around Singapore by BMW (Bus, MRT & Walking) and its like 2 in 1. Racing against each other and touring around at the same time. The places that we went are all about peace, and at the same time we have to take pictures or video to do a presentation. I loved their bus system. Its so systematic! Bus stops are everywhere and they have maps and timetables of when the buses will come. Plus, its so easy using the cashless pay card. I just have to 'toot' to pay for the bus fare & even for my McD! Why isn't Malaysia like this? I remembered passing by the city and its shoppings malls all in a row; Armani, Gucci, Prada, Louis Vuiton etc etc and its the BIG SINGAPORE SALES! Man, I miss the shopping. So the stations of the Amazing Race were the Fort Canning, Botanic Garden, Tanglin Mall, some big 5 stars hotel that I forgot the name, Singapore river with the famous lion head, Hwa Chong School and Newton Circus. Ok, enough of words, its pictures time!
The school is extremely BIG and I'm dead serious! It has 3 types of schools in it; High school, Junior college & International school. I still remembered when we reached that station, the gate was locked so we had to use another gate and I thought its just some walking distance but nooooo... We had to sit bus to reach another gate and its TWO BUS STOPS AWAY! Wtf!!? Now you can imagine how big that school is.
