Alright, I've done procrastinating. So now I shall began my post on my Brats Year-End Trip : Swinging In Sepilok.

Like what my previous previous post said, woke up at 3am just to catch a plane to Sabah. When I first reached there, I thought I was like the earliest because I couldn't find any other Brats in sight. Boy, was I wrong. The whole Taiping batch was nicely enjoying their breakfast in McD. When I'm done registering, they were done eating and about to check in. Jeremy, Jirwan, Wan Hong, Jenani, Louise, Justin & Stanley left me with the other Taiping-ians - Boon Hoe, Ian Beh & Cheryl. It's weird to say that I never get to know Cheryl in Taiping workshop but we hit off really well in this trip =)

Sat with Jeremy & Jirwan in the plane. Man, they are the most bising-est people in the whole plane lar. And I so called ruined Jeremy's life in that 2 hours. Oh yes, Jeremy Leong, you are super gay! =p I got a picture to prove that. WAKAKAKAKA!

He's soooo gonna kill me if he sees this.

Back to my story, we reached the Sandakan airport and 3 obvious groups can be seen - Taiping, Penang & Kajang batch. But the facilitators were damn smart to take away our phones, and dang, we are extremely close to one another now =)

The place we stay, Labuk B & B was nice. It was humid but its kinda like resort-chalet thingy, so its cool. We were all divided into 3 groups - print, photography & video. And again, I'm in the video group like how I was in Taiping workshop.

The video group!
Producer : Safinaz
Script writers : Louise, Alyssa, Cheryl
Camera Man : Boon Hoe
Video Editors : ME!, Sue Ann(missing)
Technical Director : Justin Nicholas
Seniors : Kok Hin, Muzani(missing)

Our 1st stop is the Rainforest Discovery Centre. Really really interesting. I've never been like this close and know lotsa stuffs about the 'greens' before. Our guide, Ben was super nice! =)
One thing I definitely remember about is the buttress root aka telephone tree. If you get lost halfway in the forest, you can knock on it and it would make a LOUD sound. Since then, Cheryl knock every buttress root she found on the way in trekking. Lol.
More pictures and less talk here now =p

Look how much we learn from her.

Oh oh. A quote to remember here "I never know there are mosquitoes in the jungle" -Ian-

2nd stop! The Orang Utan Rehabilitation centre. What is Sepilok without Orang Utan right? I can tell you, they are adorable! But really mischeif. Especially in Adrian's case. This smart Orang Utan swing here and there so happily on a rope and THUMP, fell in front of Adrian. With a bloody cute face, it hug him then out of nowhere, GRRRRR *BITES*
There goes Adrian's leg. Lol. Just a bruise though, don't worry.

Told you the Orang Utan is super cute right? Then next comes our horror. We have to trek through the jungle all the way to MDC campsite for about 5KM! SIAO MAN! The leech, ugh! I can't tell you how many are there. Thousands of leeches just trying to get into your pants and suck your blood out.
Photobucket
But the experience throughout it is undeniable =)

From this day onwards, we were very very CLOSE! Knowing us as Brats, we talk alot of crap. AND ITS ALOT OF CRAP! Especially when we come to this topic where if you get to be the opposite sex for a day, what would you do? And one of the answer is - it really made me LOL - "You know when guys get turn on *ehem* feel 'funny', the blood will rush to *ehem* there. So I will chop it off and see if a lot of blood comes out"

Maybe the beauty of nature gotten into me, but after a spending a night in the tent I'll go extra high in the morning. I'll be like :
GOOD MORNING!!!! HOW"S YOUR SLEEP? GOOD?? GOOD RIGHT?? GOOOD!!!!

Photobucket
This is where we sleep. In the tent!
You know, while sleeping, you might even the chance to get bitten by leech.
Oh wait, even in toilet too. Leeches were like our best friends already =p

3 craziest girls - Alyssa, Louise, meee..

Day 3, we went to the fishing village and what I enjoyed most is the boat ride =p Sitting in the boat, feeling the wind rushing through your hair while enjoying the view. Relaxing sial! Well, back to business, the purpose to there is to learn and experience something we 'starbucks children' never gonna live before. They live on houses just at the side of the sea where they live mainly on seafoods. The hospitality is sooo welcoming and the children? ADORABLE!
Photobucket
They teach us how to do atap nipah. Not easy man! It takes like thousands of it to do a roof.
I'm grateful for tiles roof now.

Photobucket
Making ketupat too. Sadly, I can't remember anything at all. Bugger!

Photobucket
My very own ketupat!

Photobucket
Another kampung lifestyle is to make prawn crackers!
And I suck in it =p

Photobucket
Boo! That is the super uber cute lil girl..

The 3rd day is like seriously Unofficial Seafood Day! When reach the campsite, we trek again to Mangrove Swamps and catch Lokan! It's like a clam but you can find in the muddy area. So everybody go hunting and we got about 32 LOKANS! *ehem* According to John la =p
Boon Hoe is the King Of Lokan lar, with 5 of it! I only got 1. So what we do with it? Eat lar! What else... The dinner, wow! SEAFOODDD!!! Got crabs, prawns, fishes and of cause lokan lor. I never ate that much seafood in my whole life, man!

2 more days left, so we have to finish up our assignments. And my group assignment, which is the video truly rocks! The sad thing is just the last night where is supposed to be fun and everything but the atmosphere was soo filled with tension and last minute things to do to finish up. But the products at the end, is just sooo satisfiying. It makes us Brats feel proud when we present it to the Datok in the Discovery Centre.

After our presentation in the centre.
The only group pic I have =(

And the journey ends, but the memories stays on =)
So those free times we have on the last 2 days, what else can we do? CAMWHORING!!!
That's what keeps the memories right? =p
